This blog is, as described, based on analysing groupthink and cult dynamics, though it does approach predatory business practices on occasion.
It has never been monetised and never will be. Quite the opposite; I am paying to keep it ad-free. It’s a labour of love and has been for the past decade.
It’s not promoted online, such as on social media, to ensure that most of the traffic is organic and purposeful – if people find it, it’s because they’re looking for something specific. That keeps trolling at bay successfully. If someone ends up here, it’s because they want to be here, even very briefly.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you find the content useful.
To anyone following this blog for its initial subject (deceptive online support groups).
The initial site is back online and fully workable, as it was before being moved 3 years ago. This probably happened due to a hosting issue, as until very recently, it could not be accessed at all; I had no idea it still existed. It can be found at:
https://bewareofrecoveryforums.wordpress.com/ .
It was created 10 years ago as a platform for ex-members of toxic recovery forums and was expanded to include criticism of groupthink in general, with an emphasis on cult-like dynamics.
Thank you, as always, for taking the time to contribute. And as usual, if anyone wants their comments deleted, for whatever reason, they will be removed as soon as possible. Please email mobwatch@gmx.com. Apologies if anyone tried the previous email address; it was deleted by GMX for being inactive.
I’m aware that when people navigate from one site to another they are probably trying to find the original content the blog was based on.
I deeply apologise for the lack of organisation and for moving the content around on three separate occasions. Hopefully it is still of use.
